I have played soccer both club and school since I moved to the US when I was 10years old. I prefer team sports to individual sports as I enjoy the comradery and shared experience of striving together to win. I have played for Albion Hurricanes and Houston Dynamos in their competitive leagues and for the varsity team in junior high and high school.
My school varsity team has made the state playoffs every year in Tapps competition. As a team we have struggled to get past the quarter finals for the last 3 years. We lost in overtime a couple times, and it was heartbreaking. These tough experiences force me to strive even harder every year as I get closer and closer to my goal of winning it all which is my goal this season. These experiences have taught me how to deal with pressure as that was something I used to struggle with. I have adapted and I am learning how to win.
Due to past mistakes and short comings, I have learned the value of my teammates. After coming up against great teams I realized the value of my teammates and teamwork. I have never lacked commitment, hard work and the talent but at times I have tried to take things into my own hands instead of being able to rely on my teammates
