My name is Juan Ugalde I am goalkeeper currently a junior attending Stratford High School. My goals for college soccer are to experience the next level of soccer , and to become the best version of myself as a player and as a student but to also prepare myself for the future through experiences. I am not afraid to say what I think is right, I believe that in order to become successful as a team we have to have strong connections with each other. As a character I am humble, trustworthy, optimistic, courageous, and efficient. In athletics many people say they work hard but at D1 level that’s only part of the journey, I believe that discipline is the only way to succeed as an athlete, so what makes me different is the amount of work I put into this sport is the discipline and the dedication. What matters to me the most is academics because without academics I wouldn’t be in the position that I am today, without education there’s no future so even when I struggle in academics I think of the struggle that my mom went through trying to get my education. The journey continues and will be working hard and waiting to see what's in store for me as I push myself to follow my dream.
