Brandon Wellborn '20 Recruiting Profile

My goals for College are to go to a great school, earn a degree in Engineering or a similar discipline and graduate on time.  During my time in college it is my desire to play college soccer.   I have played soccer for 14 of my 18 years.  I played for my Dad as a child until I reached the Club Select level and then played for Solar Soccer Club for 4 years and now play for Ayses.   I have experience and can play most any position on the pitch except Goalkeeper.  I currently play Center Midfield as my first club coach moved me there several years ago due to my solid decision making skills as well as my field vision.  I have played this positon for the last 6 years for my club teams as a starter.   In spring 2018 I was moved to starting Center Back for the High School JV team. I was promoted to my High School Varsity Team in March 2018 for the Texas High School Playoffs and for the 2018-2019 season I was a starter at Center Back on the Varsity team.  For my senior season (2020) I have been playing Centerback along with some outside midfield and some striker where I have scored 2 goals in the last 3 games.  At the halfway mark in district play we are in first place.  My coaches also like to single me out for my strong work ethic.  I keep working on skills until I get it right.   While I really enjoy the sport, getting a good education is most important for me in college; so, it's important that should I be lucky enough to play soccer at the next level, it will be at a place that will help me succeed long after the final whistle blows on my soccer career.
