I would like to attend a medium-sized university where I can play soccer and get a solid education. I am still deciding what to study in college. I am outgoing, and like to be a positive leader on the team, encouraging the team to push hard, reassuring teammates when they make a mistake, calling out verbally during play so we are communicating well. I'm a quick, analytical soccer thinker, with a strong awareness of the goal. As team captain, I recognize part of being a leader is also knowing when to step back and let other teammates charge forward. I take direction well, but also know how to make quick decisions on the field. This season, I'm averaging 2 goals every game - when I see a shot - I take it. I switch my dominant foot - easily striking out with either left or right.
Outside of soccer, I put a lot of effort into my studies and personal workouts. In the fall semester, in addition to a regular course load, I worked through an online geometry course to earn additional math credit. I volunteer in our community by helping numerous organizations with their setup and tear down of events, and in other ways as requested. I volunteer in our school library, helping change out the monthly themes, setup/design the displays, and organize the books. During summers and holidays I work full-time for a landscape company.
