Grady Coker '22 Recruiting Profile

Soccer has allowed me to experience and be a part of many amazing teams over my 13 years of play. In my first year with FC Dallas, my club team finished in the top of the Dallas Classic League winning an entry into the prestigious Dallas Cup 2017. I also have had the honor of traveling with FC Dallas Academy to Santa Cruz, Bolivia to play in the Copa de Mundialito Tahuichi in January of 2019. We were one of only three FC Dallas U15 teams in history to advance to the quarterfinals. While playing with my North Texas ODP team in a showcase tournament, I was recruited to tour the UK with US Revolution soccer in the summer of 2019. The tour included training with EPL coaches and play in Ireland's Foyle Cup where we placed 2nd in the Shield division. As a starter in two high school seasons, my Freshman year we finished first in our 6A district with a record of 15-2-1 and my Sophomore year ended incomplete with a record of 10-6-5. It is my goal to continue to put in the hours of work to help ensure future success each year for my club, high school and ODP teams. 

Soccer is fascinating to me. It is similar to a very active game of chess. I love that every time I play the game, it is a challenge and never the same. I require myself to study the game along with constant practice to continue to improve. In addition to working on the field, my main focus is on my academic advancement. I work very hard to maintain good grades. I know it takes self discipline, determination and strict focus to improve academically and athletically. The game has given me the ability to work with many different people. It has also taught me how to win with character and lose with dignity. With the support of God, the guidance from my parents and family, the knowledge from school, and my participation in soccer, I am blessed with a strong foundation that will help me succeed in your program.
