My name is Finn Kascha-Hare, and I am a Freshman now playing soccer at the Top 10 NAIA program at William Penn University in Iowa. I played on JV for most of the 2024 season, and out of a pool of nearly 70 players was selected to start every game besides the first three. Out of 10 NAIA games playing Fullback and Winger, contributed to the team’s success with 3 assists and 1 goals scored. I am looking for a new start at a school closer to my home in Vermont with a smaller team environment, preferably only one team with a maximum of 40 players.
I will un-enroll from William Penn University by December 13, 2024, following semester end, and am seeking to start the next semester at your school in January 2025. I have been formally released from the William Penn University soccer team. I am currently thriving in the classroom taking 14 credits with straight A’s and am looking to continue my degree in sports management.
The game of soccer has changed my life. After persevering through the pandemic my Freshman year, and being injured back to back in Sophomore and Junior years, there is nothing I want more than to continue to play the game I love at the collegiate level. After growing up and playing at a very high level in Southern California, I was faced with moving across the country to Vermont where I didn't know anyone and had the task of re-establishing myself in the regional soccer scene.
Unfortunately, during my first soccer play within a few weeks of arriving in Vermont, I tore my ACL - and again 10 months later - resulting in working through two different ACL recoveries. During those times, I truly realized how much I loved the game precisely because I was not able to play and missed it so much. I maintained my focus on the strategic and tactical aspect of soccer when I had the opportunity to be assistant student Varsity soccer coach during my Sophomore year (when we won the Vermont State Championship). Following my re-injury, during my Junior year I dedicated my focus to learning about sports medicine by volunteering over 40 hours working alongside the high school athletic trainer, assisting fellow athletes' recovery from their own sports injuries.
Throughout my own recoveries I never gave up or lost focus, maintaining a rigid rehabilitation training routine where I motivated myself to regularly (5 days per week) be in the weight room early before school, followed by plyometrics and cardio after school. In Spring 2023, once I was fully cleared to play, I sought out multiple opportunities to train with my local premier club teams (Far Post FC in Burlington, VT), as well as organized informal pre-season training with most of my fellow varsity teammates. As a result of my hard work and dedication, I excelled throughout my Senior soccer season where I played as center midfielder every minute of every game, stronger than ever.
In my Senior year it was an honor to be chosen as Captain of my high school Varsity team in my first year of active field play. There is nothing I love more than being a leader on and off the field. Following our state quarterfinal finish to the Fall 2023 season, I was recognized by my team and region as First Team All-State team selection, Lake Division Regional team selection, and my team offensive player of the year. Not only has this experience led me to push myself as hard as possible on the field to get back to my best, I did the same in the classroom by taking on a harder course schedule than required, and earning Honor Roll in both Junior and Senior years.
During Winter/Spring 2024 I played for the Burlington (VT) Football Club competing in multiple tournaments throughout New England, starting every game as a outside back and winger for their Premier U19 team. During the Summer 2024 season I was chosen as one of the top 25 players in Vermont to compete in the Twin State game between New Hampshire and Vermont high school graduates. I played almost the whole game as a center midfielder helping my team secure a 5-2 win over the heavily favored New Hampshire.
Thank you for your time and consideration,
Finn Kascha-Hare

During my recovery, I fell in love again with the process of growing as a player because I had to relearn the game twice. Now in my Senior year it is an honor to be Captain of my high school varsity team, having never actively played high school soccer. There is nothing I love more than being a leader on and off the field. Not only has this experience led me to push myself as hard as possible on the field to get back to my best, I have also done the same in the classroom taking on a harder course schedule than required, and earning Honor Roll in back to back years. In college I want to continue along the path of bettering myself in the classroom and study sports medicine, so I can use my own experience to help people persevere and successfully recover from their own injuries.
