As far back as I can remember I have loved soccer. As soon as I was able to read I started studying the sport. I started playing recreational soccer when I was five. Shortly after I started playing club soccer and also played in middle school and currently in high school. I believe my biggest athletic asset to a team is my ability to read the field and interpret the flow of the game. I have been told by coaches that I have the ability to "pace" the game. I also possess strong technical skills and defensive skills that I believe will be an added asset. I will continue to sharpen those skills and hope to develop at a higher level.
However, I believe one of my greatest strengths on and off the field is mental toughness. I am willing to stand out by not following the crowd if it means to compromise my values and morals. My values and morals are very important to me and I believe I can influence others in a positive way by supporting and encouraging my teammates.
I am not motivated by external rewards but by determination. I will push myself to reach my goals of playing soccer at the highest level possible and at the same time be successful in academics. I would like to pursue a career in architecture and design. My passion for art, nature and music play a big part in my career choice. I also love snowboarding and hiking. In addition, I have played recreational basketball and AAU as well as track.
I believe that if one person fails on a team, the whole team fails. That is why I strive to build up individuals in hopes to strengthen the whole team.
