Personal Statement

I will be graduating with an advanced high school diploma from a top 200 public high school.   As I recover from an injury,  I plan take a gap year to play soccer, to have fun, and to expand my perspective of commerce through work.    I plan to attend college in fall of 2020.  Update 7/1/2019:  Continuing to improve as I return from injury, I played midfield in Eastern Region Playoffs, despite normally playing defense.    My team won our bracket,  beating 2 teams which will already advance to the USYS National Playoffs.   The first 2 teams we beat had players with college playing experience, where as we did not have any college players.  Ultimately, we lost in the final match against the national champion Baltimore Celtic.   Considering the dynamics which affect team practices, we worked together well.  Our Virginia public school players play high school in spring and Virginia  Private Schools, plus our Maryland players, play high school soccer in the fall.   The champion had all of its players  available to practice together in the spring.

  • ActivitiesPlease take note, that Virginia public schools play High School soccer in the spring. In 2017, my high school soccer ended 1 week before final exams for teams which advance to the state finals. I played high school soccer while simultaneously playing ERL/ Region 1 League and earning a spot in the semi-finals for my McLean club team. I also played in the Potomac Tournament during my run to the High School State Championship and I attended the Celtic FC training camp. I played more soccer in the spring of 2017 than anyone else on my club team or my high school team during this period, including up to 5 games per week plus practices for 2 teams while maintaining a B average in a top 200 high school. I started for both teams and played every position in midfield and defense, as needed, during the spring 2017 season between the 2 teams. In Spring of 2016, my high school team advanced to the Regional playoffs, ending 2 weeks before finals. This occurred the same year that my club team advanced to Regional Semifinals and we won the National Championships ! I maintained a B average while playing a lot of soccer. From fall through spring, I also participated in District and State ODP. I was fully committed to doing well in school while playing soccer.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
