My goals are to attend a university with a combination of elite academics and competitive soccer that will challenge me both academically and athletically. I will bring both enthusiasm and drive to the campus, and I believe I will be a great addition on the field as well as the classroom. I am interested in pursuing a degree in Finance or Economics and Computer Science with a possible minor in Mandarin.
I’m captaining both my Varsity and Club teams this year. This role demonstrates that I have earned respect from both my coaches and teammates, and it also carries a great deal of responsibility. This is also a testament to my persistence, discipline, leadership, and humility, all of which are key characteristics for success.
On the field, I’m the fastest player for both my teams. This has allowed me to surprise opponents and typically steal a ball and score. As a result, I’m constantly marked and fouled. Luckily, I’m a physical player and not easily intimidated; a direct benefit of years of lacrosse experience. I look forward to playing competitive soccer at the highest level in college and competing against the best.
Being a two-sport Varsity and Club athlete as a freshman and sophomore, as well as transitioning to high school, conflicted with the time management required by my academics. However, as I go into my junior year, I will be focusing my athletic efforts on soccer alone. This will allow me to continue improving my GPA and achieve a positive trajectory in my grades as a junior and senior. Additionally, my unofficial SAT is trending well and demonstrates a solid mastery of both Math and English.
I hope the above gives you insight on who I am and that it helps you realize what a good athletic and academic fit I will be at your institution.
