I really can’t remember a time that soccer has not been a part of my life. Hard work, perseverance and mental fortitude allowed me to deal with personal disappointments early in my life and in soccer, pushing me to work harder and eventually became the best goalie not only in the 2005 age group on my Virginia Rush team, but for the last two years on our national Rush select teams.
I had dreams of playing internationally and opportunities were afforded to me to play internationally the last two summers through connections I made being scouted during select Rush events. The experiences and level of play were tremendous, and I rose to the level of play and became stronger as a player and person. I realized that my future path should be one which combined pursing a BA in Business and playing soccer for my college. While Europe made a stronger person and improved my game, it unfortunately lessened my exposure to desired colleges ID camps.
I am a natural leader, team captain and very vocal keeper, who is able to accurately read the field and direct my defensive line and mid-field. I have received recognition for my leadership ability by being awarded a scholarship for this exact quality at my last select event. I have great footwork; love playing out of the back and have played with both 4 and 3 out the back successfully. I am excellent at reading and stopping PK’s and let my club team to the state cup finals, which we eventually won this year in a Pk shoot out.
I know the right school is out there for me and hope that my hard work, experience, and skills will be significant for the right college to give me a chance.
