My family has a strong sporting tradition. My mom is a lifelong runner. My dad played some college soccer, and my sister is currently a college swimmer. It is fair to say I've been thinking about playing college soccer all my life. Ever since I was a young kid, I have always been captain on whatever sports team I was playing, and not because I was necessarily the best player, but because my teammates or coaches wanted it that way. One year I was playing up, and the other boys were two and three years older than me, but they still wanted me to be captain. Looking back, I think the reason was more because of my personality than anything else. I always want whats best for the team, I'm positive on and off the field, and, as we Seattle Sounders fans say, "I give it my full 90."
School hasn't always come easy to me, but I work hard to make good grades. I want to follow a family tradition and become a teacher. I'd also love to coach. I can't think of a better way to make a positive difference.
