My name is Jeremy Swatzak from Madison, Wisconsin and I'm a Junior at Madison West High School. I am 5’ 10” and I weigh 130 lbs. I have been playing soccer since Kindergarten with the Regent Soccer Club in Madison. I also played volleyball with the Madison Area Independent Sports League (MAISL) for 4 years through my grade school program.
My first year on a High School Freshman team was a great year. We won all of our regular season games and won 2 Junior Varsity teams in a Junior Varsity tournament. Playing left-back against terrifying Seniors was hard, but my defensive skills came in very handy. I have a strong left foot, but my right foot is also very powerful. I have also substituted as a goalkeeper throughout my soccer career so far and I have always played on either Futsal and/or indoor soccer during the winter months. I have positively influenced my team throughout that year and I hope to continue to play on more high school teams in the coming years.
In addition, I am approaching Boy Scout Eagle status which is a major milestone for me and I hope to get my project done by the summer of 2021. I am in my seventh year of playing the clarinet and I play in my high school Honor Band. I have been a soccer referee for 5 years, I have coached soccer to younger kids through the Millenium Soccer Program, I have been working for MSCR (Madison School and Community Recreation) since the summer of 2018, and for Break Away Sports Center in Madison since the winter of 2018.
As I start thinking about where I would like to go to college, I was seeing myself attending a smaller midwestern college or university with a strong academic program that also has a good soccer program. Financial assistance will be very important to my success. I am currently interested in the fields of science and math. I hope I can make a positive impact on whatever college soccer team I'm on.
