Camden Herlihy '23 Recruiting Profile

Hello,

My name is Camden Herlihy and I will be graduating from Oshkosh West High School (WI) in 2023. I’ve been playing soccer for as long as I can remember and my goal is to continue playing at the college level while earning a degree. Over the last 8 years, I’ve progressed from playing in our area Classic League to the Wisconsin State League (First and Premier) and the National League. I currently play on the “Elmbrook United ‘05 Elite” team in the National League - Midwest Conference. In addition to Club soccer, I also play for my high school team (varsity - starter and team captain) and have been involved in ODP for the past four years (selected for the WI ODP State Team in 2019, 2020,  2021 and 2022). I primarily play center back and left back, but have some experience in defensive mid positions, as I’m adaptable and ready to play where I’m needed. I’m very good under pressure and my greatest attributes on the pitch are my passing skills (accurate and dependable), tackling abilities, reading the opponent and cutting off angles, winning aerial duels, and my leadership qualities. I enjoy playing left back because I can contribute in the attack and quickly get back on defense. At center back, I win big tackles and win the ball when it’s in the air. Overall, I love everything about being on the field, but the relationships and bonds formed with teammates has been equally rewarding and important to me and is something I intend to cultivate when playing at the college level. Outside of soccer, I enjoy spending time with family, hanging out with friends, playing video games, and exercising/lifting weights. I also have a part time job and do volunteer work in my community and school.
