Hi my name is Gavin Fernandez and I live in Sturgeon Bay WI – beautiful Door County!
Five years ago or so I told my parents I wanted to keep playing soccer until it was no longer fun. Good news is I still find it lots of fun and rewarding and I am looking forward to being able to keep playing in college.
I am looking for a college that will feel like home both academically and on the soccer field. I want to be able to grow and challenge myself in the classroom and on the field and look for a supportive environment to do both.
In my free time, I like to go goose & deer hunting. I also enjoy fishing. I spend my summers outside working at the local marina and playing soccer and baseball.
My freshman year of high school one of my coaches shared some advice with me that has helped me focus and plan for the future. He told me “JV high school is for learning to play at the next level”. This advice helped me work harder to play varsity soccer and I think I will keep these words with me as I continue to grow and develop as a player.
