Competitively swimming on a recreational team since I was five and on club teams since I was thirteen, swimming has been a huge passion of mine for as long as I can remember. Not only have I been steadily improving year after year, I have had a rapid level of success recently. I’m confident that this success will be continuing for many reasons, namely due to my continuing physical development and my increasing time-commitment to swimming.
I’m really looking forward to growing and learning in this amazing sport, and I have so much more room to develop and train while performing at the highest collegiate level. I am a competitor through and through and have a deep desire to advance. I don’t just want to be good, I want to be great. I seek out coaching and other swimmers who share my passion and who will challenge me through this process.
Not only do I seek and expect excellence in swimming, I also strive for it in my studies and in other areas of life. I pride myself in working hard in school and in earning excellent grades. I’m also a top-level competitor in speech and debate. And I love to give back to my community whether it is through sharing food and fellowship with those less fortunate, tutoring other high school students in writing, or teaching children how to swim and to coach them to become competitive swimmers themselves.
I look forward to the incredible opportunity to swim in college where I plan to not only strengthen my own swimming, but even more importantly, where I can be a contributing, leading, and encouraging member to the team as a whole.
