I skipped the 8th grade and my birthday is in June so I am actually only 15 years old when most of the boys in my graduating class (2021) are actually 16-17 years old already. I also did not start competitive swimming until I was nearly 12 years old which is late compared to most who are serious about the sport. This puts me at 1-2 years behind my graduating class peers in terms of potential athlete development and age/physical strength and maturity. Since joining a new club in January 2019, I have been improving by leaps and bounds. I am hoping that any coach interested in me will view my progression in the sport and weigh my age/comparative years racing along side that and judge me based on my potential for continued improvement as well as my current times.
