Michael Chavez '23 Recruiting Profile

Hi my name is Michael Chavez and I have been swimming competitively since I was 13 with Ripon Aquatics.  Before I did competitive swimming, I started swimming with a Recreational team when I was 10. Swimming has been the sport that I love ever since I did Recreational swimming. I've been a competitive, hardworking, determined, persistent, and disciplined swimmer when I started. As having these qualities throughout swim, not only do I use these qualities for sports, I use them for school too. I work very hard to be one of the top students at my High School.  Throughout my life, I have been doubted and been in positions where people believed I wasn't going to do great things in life, and I was going to fail. I never let people's comments get to me because I have the support from my family and those who support me. As growing up, I proved a lot of people wrong and people started to see how much of a warrior I am, overcoming obstacles, moreover, challenges that kept me from achieving my goals. As growing and maturing, I have confidence in myself to do great things in swim and my whole career. My family believes and support me so they can see me grow into the man they want me to be.

Throughout my high school career, I do AP/Honors classes to show I have the diligence to do the work and I try to go above and beyond so students and teachers can know how much effort I put myself through so I can live a successful life and to be better. As senior years starts to come, I will do whatever it takes to have high grades in my AP/Honors classes my senior year, have great SAT scores, and try to get myself into the competitive Division 1 schools so I can continue my academic and swim career. My goals is to swim in college and compete in the Olympics so I can cement a legacy so everyone can know how special Michael Chavez is. I'm ready to move on to the next phase of my life and am very excited to do so.
