At two years old, I accidentally fell into the deep end of my backyard pool for the first time. By the time my father had jumped in the water to save me, I had already paddled towards the steps to get out all by myself. Then at the age of three, I surprised my parents once more with the desire to join the local swim club. They took me to the next practice and said that if I could swim the entire 25 meters of the pool by myself, then I could join the team. According to my mother, I eagerly hopped in and went the distance with ease. From then on, I have continued to work hard in and out of the pool to get even stronger and faster. I even joined the Rehoboth Beach Patrol so that I could use my talents to help those in need. The art of swimming has truly been a cornerstone of my life and I wish to keep swimming for as long as possible, both casually and competitively.
