I began swimming competitively since the age of four when my brothers swim coach saw me and asked my parents if she could see how I do in the water. This action led to who I am today, practicing practically every day from then until now. All of my coaches have had a great impact on me with their positivity as well as their constructive criticism. Whether it was technique or strength training they all taught me what to do in order to improve and I am always up for a challenge. They have done the best job at preparing me for highschool and college competition.
So far, throughout my highschool Varsity career my greatest accomplishment has been making the All-County First Team for the 100 Free. This gave me a small glimpse that I was doing well and could do more. I feel that not making State my freshman and sophomore year allowed me to see the improvements I need to make in order to be able to compete at the college level. I have also learned that the best critic is yourself and that you have to push yourself. Fortunately, the Cambridge Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE) program at Oakleaf highschool has taught me many life lessons, including taking action and not depending on others so much. It has shown me the characteristics of a leader which will hopefully help me in becoming Team Captain in the upcoming years. I wish to graduate highschool with my AICE Diploma and attend a well respected college.
