Swimming has been one of my passions for as long as I can remember. Even though swimming is difficult and can be hard to keep up with, nevertheless I have endured. My endurance is fueled by my love of the sport of swimming. My journey with the sport began at the age of 8. Throughout the years, I have realized how much I enjoy competing and developing a discipline required for daily practices, even though I must admit there were moments along the way that required a gentle nudge and reminder from my parents of all the hard work I had invested along the way. To this day I thank them for what they did because without their push I could have never been able to be where I am today. Enjoying my sport with all its competitive spirit, daily discipline and camaraderie, much of which spills into so much of what I do academically. My academic goals are focused in the field of engineering and architecture. I always aspire to be the best I can be, but am also equally comfortable with the failures I encounter along the way that will teach many good lessons. I am more interested in achieving balance in my life, than in being the best at all times no matter the personal cost. I want to get the best out of myself and, if I can, to get the best out of my teammates as well. I've opted to design my high school curriculum to be as rigorous as possible to see how far I can push myself both academically and within my sport, always keeping in mind the most optimal balance between swimming and academics.
