Swimming has been my passion since my parents first started taking me to swim lessons at the age of 5 to ensure I was safe around water. I enjoyed going to swim lessons so much my teacher eventually recommended I join a local swim team to continue my progress. I am a competitive swimmer who swam for the Maverick Swim Club, based in Naperville, IL, for the first 10 years (since I was 6) I have been in the sport. After my move this past summer to Orlando, FL, I became a student at Trinity Preparatory School, located in Winter Park, FL, and I now swim for Trinity Prep Aquatics. At Naperville Central High School (Naperville, IL), in my freshman year, I set a Freshman/Sophomore DuPage Valley Conference record in the 500 Freestyle. In my sophomore year, I helped set the 400 Freestyle Relay DuPage Valley Conference Record and helped the 200 and 400 Freestyle relays qualify for the IHSA state meet. With Trinity Prep Aquatics, my junior year, I qualified for the FHSAA State meet in two Individuals (200 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke) and two relays (200 and 400 Freestyle Relays).
I look forward to continuing my development academically, athletically, and socially as a part of the college community I feel is right for me. My goal is to explore a major in business or math/science/engineering to prepare me for my career beyond graduation. While continuing to excel within the classroom and competing in the pool, I also look forward to continuing my spiritual development by being an active part of the university community.
My positive mindset, hard-working mentality, coach-ability, friendly demeanor, and desire to unleash my top potential for myself and my teammates all make me a good candidate for a college swim team. I am always among the first to arrive at practice, even the early morning practices, and I never miss practice unless it is for academic or health exceptions. I enjoy challenges at practice and always give 100% effort at practice, no matter how hard the workout is. I also show leadership for my team by leading the lane for my assigned training group, helping push to effort and to make everyone on the team a better swimmer. I am proud to have received the Servant Leadership Award presented by Coach Rocco Aceto of Trinity Prep Aquatics after my junior year high school season.
What makes me different from other recruits are my leadership skills outside of the water. For the past 5 summers, I have gone on a summer youth mission with my church to better communities for people around the country. I am also employed as a class leader by the same person who taught me to swim at the age of 5, allowing me to pass on the passion for swimming to a younger generation.
