My love for swimming first began at the ocean. Every summer, my family and I headed south to visit my grandmother in Florida. Eventually, I got formal swim stroke training at Georgia State University (GSU). My parents registered me for every seasonal lesson the college offered. After out-growing GSU’s programs; in homeschool and middle school, I swam in neighborhood and summer league programs. It was a joy taking top place in the many events I raced.
Now a 6 ’2” and 180 pounds, 2nd Lieutenant, senior at Riverside Military Academy (RMA); my greatest accomplishments in swimming have been qualifying for the Georgia State High School Championship meets two-years in a row. I also came in 2nd, two-years in a row, in the Hall County Swim Championship for the 50 meter Freestyle (which is known as the fastest race in swimming). When I am not swimming, you can find me practicing the high-jump and running cross-country.
Although I am undecided on a major, I look forward to attending college. I can see myself swimming on a team, and using my leadership and academic skills to become my best self.
