As someone who has spent my whole high school career swimming, there have been many life lessons learned as well as many opportunities to build character and learn who I am as a person. The most important lesson I have been taught is perseverance. Where there's a will there's a way and I pride myself in always having the will to succeed and become better then I was the day before. The second is team work and the mentality behind participating in and leading a team, this is a vital trait when it comes to competitive swimming. The last is the ability to listen and know that others have more wisdom then me. This is a crucial part in training and growing both as an individual and as an athlete. I hope to continue the use of these skills at a higher level as I continue as a student athlete at the collegiate level.
