Zachary Butters '21 Recruiting Profile

My name is Zachary Butters and I am a Senior at Lane Tech College Prep in Chicago, Illinois. I joined the Leaning Tower YMCA Sharks swim team when I was seven years old after two years of swimming lessons.  I am currently a member of the Swift Aquatics club team and am looking forward to enjoying a second successful year on my high school swim team.  

I have two main goals for my high school career:  I intend to be below 4:40 in the 500 freestyle, below 1:42 in the 200 freestyle, and continue to drop time in my other events, as well.  Ultimately, I want to make it to State and win my events there.

Swimming is my passion.  I love the competition and value the friendships I have made through the sport, both on my team and others.  My teammates and I are always pushing each other during practices which helps us all improve.  I look forward to continue growing in the years to come.

Some of my other interests include music (I play the piano and saxophone), skiing, playing video games with my friends, movies and reading.
