I believe that hard work is very important to accomplish goals. I have been in swim lessons since I was 3 months old and started competitive swim at age 7. I have learned a lot with the practice, training, and competitiveness of this sport. I have also learned that while it is very much an individual sport it really is a team that makes one's drive and motivation thrive. I always try to give my teammates a boost especially when they think they have not done their best. I don't want to seem like they think they are a failure. It's easy to do that in this sport. I have also learned that some days are good and some days are bad, especially on meet days. It's the positive attitude that helps. It's not always training and practice that makes one succeed.
I am an only child and adopted. My parents have taught me that hard work and dedication are keys to success. I study and complete my assignments and I go to all of my practices and compete in as many meets as I can. I want to set an example for the younger kids. I just got my first job teaching a 5-year old boy swim lessons. I really enjoy helping others learn.
