I have had a passion for swimming for as long as I can remember. I started my swimming career when I was five years old at a local pool and club called Carefree. I grew up swimming there every summer, and always looked forward to practices. To this day, swim practice is usually my favorite part of every day. Eventually, at eight years old, I started swimming at Center Grove with the Center Grove Aquatic Club, where I swim now. I feel like I have an important role on the team now, as I often find myself to be the one with the most enthusiasm. I feel like it is my responsibility to make sure that everyone on the team feels at home and ready to swim. I am always one of the first ones to practice and often find myself at the front of the lane alongside the seniors. On the high school team, I have worked my way up from the bottom to gain the respect of my peers due to my dedication and hard work at practice. I have managed to keep my grades consistent over the season as well. This is what enabled me to receive the MIC All-Academic Award twice. I also won the award for most improved swimmer after my sophomore year for dropping time in the 500 every meet. I also have the ability to adapt to new situations quite easily, and I think I could make a good addition for any team looking for a good distance swimmer with work ethic, passion, and determination.
