My name is Jacob Pins, I have been swimming with Des Moines Swimming Federation since I was 6 years old. I have always been a motivated swimmer; whether trying to beat my older brother, making motivational times, or more recently making national times.
My Long term goals are to make Olympic trials and to make the Olympic team. I also want to swim at a high level in college.
My strongest events are mid to long distance freestyle. I also like competing in backstroke and sprint freestyle, which I think could help in relays. I have always been a team player. I want to score points to help my team, but I also like to cheer on my teammates and congratulate them on their own successes. I strive to be a role model in and out of the pool to my younger teammates.
Over the past four years, Des Moines Swimming Federation has had a new head coach each year. This has helped me realize that I can adapt to different coaching styles.
