Hi I am Abigail White. My love for the sport started when a friend invited me to play for recreational softball in first grade. Right away it caught my attention and then I found out I could play tournament ball! At first I was never on the team that had competitive or really athletic girls. This was a learning curve for me to keep pushing forward and be a leader when others were not as motivated. In 14u I made it to the top team and I continued to better myself to be better than other girls. Moving in to school ball I fought for every second I played since we had around 35 girls wanting to play. Going into sophomore year many girls dropped and the dedicated ones stayed. One of my biggest achievements during my sophomore year was that I was able to pitch in some varsity games and becoming the number one relief for our varsity pitcher. Now I am the starting Varsity pitcher for the West Des Moines Valley team.
I am hardworking and competitive. I care about the people I am with, and our goal. I love getting to know new people and learning from different experiences. A little thing about me is that when I am away from softball too long my body gets anxious and ready to step back onto the field. Thinking of playing in college makes me excited and pushes me to want to get better for what is to come.
When it comes to certain colleges I am pretty open on where I would like to go. I am mostly looking for a schools in the Midwest. I am not to sure about what I want my career or major to be. I am ready to find something that is my niche. Mostly I just want a school where I can play softball at a high competitive level and also have a good education.
My goal for softball is to find the right team that can be competitive and supportive, but also pushes each other to be a better people and players. I would like to impact the people around me, and the little girls who are just starting to see the passion I have, and for them to also find the same love for the game.
