I am a 5 ft 11 185 lb swimmer. I have swum for WSC in the MVC for 7 years, and 3 years at Wichita East High School. I also plan to finish my final year with my HS and Club teams. My current goals for HS are to continue to develop leadership skills on my HS team, and to make top 3 at State by Senior year.
I believe my greatest quality is perseverance. I am not a stranger to adversity, and push through to reach my goals. One example of this is a rock climbing accident I experienced the summer before my Freshmen year. My goals prior to the accident were to make Varsity, and to make finals at State. And with the help of my doctors and both my Club and HS coaches, I was able to accomplish both. Additionally, Sophomore and Junior year, I went on to qualify (finalist Junior Year) for State and was selected as 2nd Team All City. I also believe my ability to juggle a variety of extracurricular activities and the rigor of IB academics has equipped me to make an impact on a college swim team while getting a good education.
Being born and raised in the mid-west, I am curious to explore schools on the east and west coasts, although I would be open to considering any location.
I look forward to being considered for your program.
