I've always been raised to be a student first and an athlete second, and while school is vitally important to me, swimming has always been an outlet to get away from the books and put in the hard work. Every day I go to practice, I thoroughly enjoy pushing myself to be the best swimmer that I believe I can be. If not for swimming, I would have never been able to gain many important life skills that I can bring with me to the next level. Qualities such as leadership, toughness, and coachability contribute to the person I am today. With a background in basketball and football, I can bring the athleticism of a basketball player, and the awareness of a football player. Out of the pool, my grades speak for themselves, having never received anything less than an A on my report card even with the most difficult classes on my schedule. I will never be an academic liability on any team, and with the productive nature of two-a-day swim practices, I will work even harder to compensate. I hope that I can bring all of my abilities to a school that will supplement both my swimming as well as my academic aspirations.
