Hi, I'm Zachary Clark and I attend Bel Air High School in Bel Air, Maryland. I will be graduating in 2022 with a dual pathway in Foreign Language (German) and Marketing. In college I want to major in Cybersecurity and minor in Marketing. I am expanding my options by watching YouTube videos, reading articles, and researching different majors in the cyber field. I'm also interested in Cyber Criminology, Software Development, and Web Design. Swimming on a collegiate level, I'm looking for a team that is very social, bonds well, works hard, and will challenge me to bring out my full potential. I not only want to create memorable moments for other people but I want to be apart of a team that I will never forget. I would be an excellent candidate for a team considering I strive off of hard work, I am very flexible with events, and I am very motivated athletically and academically.
Here's a little more about my life. I started swimming when I was 5, this will be my 12th year of summer league swimming. This summer was my 3rd year lifeguarding and coaching at Rock Spring Swim Club where I've held the record in 100 Meter Free for 2 years. This year (2021) I broke the record for our 200m Men's Step-Up, 100 I.M. I placed top 5 on our record board for every other event, 50m Freestyle, 50m Backstroke, 50m Butterfly, and 50m Breaststroke. I am very close to breaking the records for those events and aspire to achieve my goals next summer, breaking the record for each event. I not only have my lifeguarding and Red Cross CPR/First Aid certifications but I am a certified pool operator, and certified Water Safety Instructor. Next year I will assume the position as Pool Supervisor at Rock Spring Swim Club. I started swimming on a USA Team my freshman year of High School, 2018/19. Since then I have come a long way and I only wish to keep dropping time in all of my events and bettering myself in technique and endurance. At Bel Air High School, I am on the Varsity team every year, and have made it to Counties, Regionals, and States (East Region-4A3A) as a freshman and sophomore. Although my Junior season at Bel Air has been cancelled due to COVID-19, I am actively swimming with Arena Club 5 days a week and am attending a strength training class with a private trainer twice a week. I am in Honor Societies and Clubs (which are listed in my profile), I have done many hours of volunteering, I have received many academic and athletic awards, and I have challenged myself with Honor and AP classes.
This school year, 2021/2022 I will be taking half days to work and possible take a college class or two. I will be taking AP German, AP English IV, Advanced Marketing, and Trigonometry. I will be working at Arena Club everyday after school and continue to practice there 3-5 M-F. I am pushing myself to create a better diet and create workouts so that I can get the most out of my last year in high school and prepare to compete in college. I am grateful to have the option to utilize Arena Club's whole gym 3 days a week for an hour after practice. I ecstatic for this season of High School swimming as I will be the Varsity Team Captain!
I look forward to talking to college coaches and learning more about the opportunities that schools have to offer, along with getting to know the coaches, their coaching styles and their expectations of a college swimmer.
Here are some more of my times from this Summer, 2021!
