Carl Zhang 200Y B...Personal Statement
I started swimming at the age of nine, and immediately realized that swimming is a battle both physically and mentally. The amount of concentration that I have to put into my strokes is an enormous physical challenge and takes limitless effort. There is also a constant need to be mentally strong because failure is always a possibility to overcome. I am passionate about swimming because it has taught me many lessons about work ethic and continuing swimming in college has always been a goal of mine.
I am looking for a program that will balance academics with athletics. I believe I have the leadership and management skills to perform great in a competitive collegiate setting!
