Personal Statement

When I started swimming at age ten, I knew that I loved it, and even to this day, I always wake up and think about how I want to go to swim practice. This passion for swimming carries me through my life and motivates me to reach my goals. Now that I am close to the next stage in my life, I realize that I cannot imagine not swimming in college. It has been such an important part of my life, and I want to continue to improve, to learn, and to succeed at a college that is the right academic and athletic fit for me. Every single swim practice I attend, I always try my hardest with every stroke, every lap, and every interval, because I know that improving these skills will make me a better swimmer. I hope that I can find a college that will help me continue my development in swimming by pushing me as hard as I push myself.
