Billy Connor '25 Recruiting Profile

I have been swimming competitively since I was 8 years old, and I have always had a passion for the sport.  I currently swim 6 days a week.  In 2021, I was named Short Course Maryland Swimmer of the Year.  I enjoy both the individual nature of swimming but also like the idea of being a team player where I can pursue my dream of swimming in college.  

Working hard at practice in preparation to achieve my goals in the pool is essential, but one of the things swimming has taught me is time management. As a result, I view my academic achievements more important than what I do as an athlete which is why I work equally as hard in the classroom with my studies. Through my freshmen year, I have been able to sustain a 3.7 GPA inclusive of participating in advanced placement classes.

Swimming is a big part of my life.  My desire is to continue swimming at the collegiate level, seeking a program where I can thrive among challenging competition and a supportive community. I want to continue to improve and further develop my technique, I eagerly anticipate finding a college that balances academic excellence with a strong swimming program in a positive atmosphere.
