Personal Statement

My dream is to one day be able to swim for a prestigious college as well as major in Prelaw or Political Science and become a Corporate Litigator or a Business Litigation lawyer.  When I first started swimming my freshman year; two years ago, I was the slowest person on the team. That was to be expected when you've never swam competitively a day in your life. I was actually pretty ashamed of how slow I was so i took it upon myself to get faster.I asked my coaches on my high school team how i should go about getting faster. That summer I joined a summer league known as the Long Branch Water Wizards. When i was on that team, i was the slowest 14 year old in the 13-14 age group. While i was on the team my mom met a parent of one of my fellow teammates and she told my mom about a swim team that really focuses on their swimmers. It is known as DC Wave. This is my year round team and i have been swimming on it since i was 14. I've only been on the team for one year and i have made great strides on the team. In the beginning of the swim season, I was the slowest person on the team yet again, but to everyones surprise I began to get faster and faster everyday. I started off the season in October with a time of 34 seconds for my 50 free and by March i was going 25.58 seconds. As well as going as 1:18 for my 100 free in October, I now go a 58.70. I am committed to getting faster and stronger and defeating the competition. I am looking for a college that has a good Pre-Law or Political Science program and suits my needs as a students and has teachers that actually care about their students instead of just assigning homework and moving on with their lives. I need to be able to sit down with my professors and have some one on one conversations about what we are learning.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
