I am very familiar with the struggle of participating in several activities and managing time well. I am on my high school's swim team and tennis team, as well as a USA/YMCA Club team known as the Greater Holyoke YMCA Vikings. I participate in my school's musical ensemble as well as a jazz ensemble after school. I am also employed as a lifeguard. I am able to find time to fully participate in all of these activities, proving that I can give full attention to both academics and athletics, as well as several other things. I often volunteer around my community as well. For example, I spent several hours cleaning a Lake in my area with several students from Belchertown High School as well as students from UMass Amherst. Another weekend was spent cleaning the town's common after our annual fair. However, these activities do not come unrecognized. As a sophomore, I was recognized as "Player of the Year" along with three others from my high school swim team, by the Daily Hampshire Gazette. I was ranked as a First Team Swimmer in Western Massachusetts by both Masslive and The Daily Hampshire Gazette. At my sectional meet I placed third in the 100 backstroke, and fifth in the 200 IM. Both my medley and 400 Freestyle relay placed first. At states, I placed seventh in the 100 back as well as twelfth in the 200 IM. Our 400 Free Relay won states, and our 200 Medley Relay was the runner up. In the 2015 high school tennis season, I was named MVP for my team, and recognized as one of the two doubles teams to earn the Western Massachusetts, "First Team" ranking. This doesn't solely represent how I perform in high school, but how I will perform in college as well.
