I have been swimming all of my life, mostly winter and summer recreational leagues until I reached high school when I joined a US Team called North Shore Swim Club in the Boston area. I swam two season for my high school team and then chose to stay with my club team so I could work on improving my times. I always thought I was a breaststroke was my best stroke, but I'm very well rounded. I surprised myself this year by going 1:09 in the 100 backstroke, a stroke I don't normally swim (and have since improved that time)! I love the 200 IM as well. I'm trying hard to break the 1:00 barrier of the 100 free. My current time is 1:00.03. I will soon try some longer distance events as I haven't really done those before. Outside of swimming I am an accomplished pianist and I would like to study music in college, specifically piano, but also music technology or sound engineering. I'm not 100% sure on that just yet, so I definitely want a school where I have some options. The thought of swimming for college is appealing not only to keep myself active and improving my strokes/technique but also to be a part of a team and have camaraderie with my fellow teammates.
