Josue Gomez '20 Recruiting Profile

    My name is Josue Gomez, and I come from an urban city known as Lynn, Which is located in Essex County Massachusetts. My aspiration in life is to attend a university and become the first graduate of my family.  Being a first - generation American my aspirations are high because many people like me don't receive the same opportunities that I do. I've always had a passion for the sport of swimming but wasn't able to take part in it at a younger age due to financial difficulties. Therefore I did not receive the amount of training that I would have liked, however, that did not stop me from taking part in the sport and practicing. An evident characteristic of mine is my persistence, No matter if I was told not to do something I would still try it out and come to find that I enjoyed doing said things for example like the Butterfly stroke. My whole life I struggled with being overweight, and to this day I still am a little over than what I should be. I don't let that stop me from pursuing my dreams, no matter how big or how small the task is I set out to complete it, even if there are obstacles in the way.
