Swimming has been a part of my life ever since I was six. I've had my ups and downs in the sport, but I'm still here working hard so I can swim in college. After having 10 years of club swimming with an additional 2 years of High School swimming, I can honestly say that I've enjoyed the team culture, with teammates cheering on others and congratulating one another after getting personal best times. My older friends, who are collegiate swimmers, who have experienced the process tell me that college swimming is just like high school, but the atmosphere is more intense and I wish to experience it myself. As a competitive swimmer, I love facing challenges head on without hesitation or question; I also like the experiences of practicing and learning to get better in everything I do. I believe that you can still learn more and to improve. While I like competition, sometimes I would prefer a tough practice set over a meet. As a person, I can be a little introverted but once i get to know people, I can be very gregarious. My friends say I have a laid back attitude. I am able to goof off and have fun on my free time, but I become serious, when it comes to swimming or school.
