Hello,
My name is Faustas Garbenis, and next year I will be a senior at Waterford Kettering High School. I have been swimming since I was 5 years old. When I was 9 years old, I was diagnosed with Type I Diabetes. It was a huge adjustment to manage by diabetes with the rigors of swim practice and meets, but I was able to do so with constant monitoring. I feel that I would be a great fit on the team, as I am positive, enthusiastic and hard working.
My favorite events are the 50 and 100 freestyle. Recently, I swam a 47.31 in the 100 freestyle at the Oakland County meet and a 22.11 at the Lakes Valley Conference Meet. I was planning to taper for the D1 state meet, and I believe that I would have improved on those times. My goal times were 46.99 for the 100 freestyle and 21.89 in the 50 Freestyle or better.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you soon. I’ll be a great College swimmer!
