Adam Wilwerding '23 Recruiting Profile

I intend to study mechanical engineering next fall in college.  I grew up on a dairy farm in Central Minnesota and swim for the Melrose/Sauk Centre Fusion.   I know how to work hard.  I was not able to participate in Club swimming due to my families commitment to the long hours of agriculture.  I swim the IM Relay, 100 Free, 100 Back and the 400 Relay.  I have also competed in the 100 Fly, 50 Free and 200 Relay.  I love swimming, but the best part of the sport is the other guys on my team.  I love the comradery, working together to make our team successful and supporting each other in the highs and lows.  No one thought our team would be any good this year.  As captain, it was my job to let each swimmer know that they mattered and could contributed to our team.  We earned a spot at the MN State True team meet as a wild card and I am very proud of our accomplishment!  The backstroke is my strongest stroke and I have set very high goals for the end of this season.
