Two of the biggest moments of my swimming career so far have involved winning the Minnesota High School State Team Championship both as a freshman and as a sophomore. I was also very proud to place 6th in the 200 IM this past year. My teammates see me as someone who motivates them with hard work, personal encouragement and humor. Seeing my older teammates lead us to our state championships has really shown me what it takes to be a leader and has inspired me to want to lead our team to another two state championships as an upperclassman.
I want to swim in college because I really love the team atmosphere and the sense of community that swimming has to offer, and I believe that swimming in college will allow me to further develop as a swimmer and student, but most importantly, as a person. I am looking for a school with both a high level of academics as well as a competitive swim team. Both are a priority to me. I want to swim at a program where athletes and coaches have a great relationship and where I can be pushed to do my best every single day.
