I have been swimming since 4th grade. I always loved the sport because it brought together a group of like minded individuals who all strived towards similar goals. I want to continue swimming in college, as I believe the sport helps with work ethic and also builds connections.
In school, I have a 4.00 unweighted GPA and volunteer at our school's tutor center to help students with math and English papers. I am also a part of a variety of academic clubs, like math team, quiz bowl, and knowledge bowl. I find all of these clubs rewarding, as they give a competitive and lively atmosphere to learning.
In the pool, I swim for Edina High School during the MSHSL season, and the Edina Gators Swim Club during the rest of the year. I am always working hard to improve, like watching YouTube videos and lifting weights outside of swimming in the pool.
In college, I want to focus on academics as well as swim. My academic record indicates my commitment to balancing education with swimming, and I want to maintain the balance in college. I have always been interested in STEM courses throughout my life, and I want to go into an engineering or science major in college.
