My whole life has been about getting to the next level in swimming. Each year my expectations increase but I am old enough and learned it does not come easy. Balancing academics, family and swimming is not easy but at my house, nothing is more important than my school work.
I take learning the sport and various techniques seriously. Also, last year I began to see how more strength and power would be needed to push my size (6’5” with 6’9” wingspan) to the next level. My coach likes to call me a young junior because my strength has yet to catch up with the length of my body. I wasn’t sure I liked the comment but then began to realize the upside in my swimming remains much further out.
