Separate and apart from swimming being great exercise and awesome competition, I’ve come to appreciate its significance in leading a disciplined lifestyle. As my grandpa said, if all kids could swim at a competitive level, they would learn pretty quickly what it takes to succeed in this world; hard work, more hard work, perseverance, relationships and resiliency.  My parents tell me I have always been a late bloomer but swimming has and hopefully will continue to be my one rock that propels me forward academically and as a person.  By embracing competitive swimming over the last several years (and especially the last 18 months) it has elevated my maturity, academics and relationships to levels that I do not think I would have achieved so soon.  I am ready to do what it takes with swimming to continue my growth as a young adult. Simply stated, I am ready to take it to the next level.
