Personal Statement
Ideally, I am looking for a swim program where I can be a contributing member of the team. Swimming is an important pillar of my life that complements my love for academic success. I am looking for a team that values dedication and is striving for success in the pool and in the classroom. In college, I am looking for an enthusiastic coach who is encouraging and realistic about my goals of continuing to improve my times.

Training
- Swimming and Dry-land: abs, weight lifting

- Since Sophomore year, I have been on the senior team at Berkeley Aquatic Club and have been training 11 months of the year, each year. During the normal season, we practice each day after school (mon-fri) from 4-6 (7,500 yards on average)(with dry-land afterward on most days), additionally, morning practices on Tuesday and Thursday before school (5:30-7am)(about 5000 yards), and Saturday morning 8-10. Over the Holiday break (December) and mid summer (mid june thru early july) we increase our training to doubles each day averaging 7,500 yards pre practice. Over Summer 2013 our senior team (including me) traveled to the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs for 3 weeks to train at altitude (averaging 8,000 meters per practice, over 200 miles swam over the 3 weeks). At BAC we practice hard so when competition season comes, we can taper off and swim well at the end of the season.
