I am a highly driven swimmer who loves competition, in and out of the water. I am very adaptable, and excel in relays as well as individual events. I started swimming in 8th grade as an alternative to soccer and basketball after developing stress fractures in my heels. Since then, it has taken over as my passion and in my three years of high school swimming I've dropped 26 seconds in my 100 breast. I have much potential for improvement with focused coaching especially now that I've given up soccer to train for swimming year round. My rapid growth due to being a new swimmer enabled me to get 10th place at New York State finals in breastroke my first year making the qualifying time. I am also an Honor Role student at a nationally recognized Blue Ribbon high school and lead trumpet in both concert band and jazz band. I aspire to be the best at everything I do, and my work ethic at home and at school reflects the work and time I continuously put into swimming.
