I haven't always had a love for swimming that drives me to continue forward as I do now. I discovered a love for swimming at 14 years old to complete an Eagle Scout required merit badge. Shortly after, I joined my local high school team and found a deep passion for swimming competitively, later I joined and still currently swim for the New York Sharks (NYSA). My love for swimming is fueled by my passion for competing. I view myself as a team player, invaluable on relays and have been a captain since my sophomore year. Derived from my time as the Senior Patrol Leader of my Boy Scout troop, my leadership style is authoritative, yet I also pride myself in being able to engage and support even the youngest and most inexperienced members on my team. Aside from swimming I enjoy playing the tuba and am a senior member of not only my high school's honors Wind Ensemble, but also the Concert Band as well as our Marching Band. I enjoy challenging myself in the classroom such as the advanced placement classes I currently take and have taken in high school. These classes allow me to broaden my way of thinking, and surround myself with like-mind peers who enjoy spirited discussion of the material. As a collegiate athlete I hope to surround myself with like minded student athletes with the passion for swimming and to better themselves academically in the same manner I do.
