Tyler Horstman '22 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Tyler Horstman.  I am a Junior at Findlay High School. I have been swimming since the 6th grade and have been a member of Varsity High School Swimming since I was a Freshman. I also swim for the Findlay Area Swim Team, my local competitive club team, year round. I have tried many sports over the years, and swimming was the one sport that was able to hold my interest, which pushed me to pursue competition. Since then, I have been dedicated to the sport and my teams, and have tried to be the best athlete that I can be. On top of swim, I am an All Conference Scholar Athlete, a certified Lifeguard, a distinguished Honor Roll student, a Boy scout working towards my Eagle Scout, and a Singer/Dancer in the Findlay First Edition Show Choir. A large obstacle that I have faced has been pursuing other interests along with Swimming, inside and outside of high school. I am involved with several other programs, and have had to learn how to balance all of these activities appropriately. This has taught me that nothing worth doing in life will be easy, and that I will have to work hard to accomplish my goals and dreams. This mindset has been reinforced time and time again and has had a large impact on my work ethic and life, both inside and outside of the classroom. I have had my ups and downs with the sport over the years, but I can say from the bottom of my heart that I love swimming, and I am extremely eager and excited to pursue it at the collegiate level.
