2020 Long Course ...Personal Statement
I have been swimming since fourth grade. I have played many sports for many years and loved them all, but swimming is something special and my absolute favorite sport. I would love to continue my swimming career in college. I’m currently looking forward to my sophomore season since my freshman year taught me so much. As a freshman, I qualified for the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) championship, which I was very proud of since very few freshmen qualify for WPIALs. I am also extremely proud that in my freshman year I was on the medley relay team with three seniors, and we set a new pool record for my high school.
I plan to pursue engineering in college, most likely electrical engineering. I love math and science, and I have the same dedication in the classroom that I have in the pool. Pursuing an engineering degree will be difficult, but the same self-discipline that swimming has helped me develop will help me in achieving my educational goals as well.
